I recently had the pleasure to recently work with Jonathan, a freelance actor and musician who lives in Spain. He is using an older operating system, and was starting to see SSL certificate warnings on certtain websites. He was also experiencing issues with the audio on some streaming services. Using Teamviewer, Jonathan received a similar remote support experience as if I was sitting next to him.
Providing IT Support remotely presents it’s own set of challenges. It requires above all excellent communication skills and realistic expectations from both parties.
Using “Teamviewer” I was able to figure out what was causing the problems he was facing with his laptop by seeing in realtime the issues he was facing. The beauty of Teamviewer, is that it’s not only for viewing passively what is happening. After the user grants me permission, Teamviewer allows me to virtually “sit in front of the computer”. My keyboard and mouse, become the keyboad and mouse of the remote computer. I can check settings, install updates, and performing troubleshootng with ease.
In very short amount of time, we had reached an understanding of what was causing the issues, and agreed on what needed to be done.
Below is a short video from Jonathan explaining the case.
